Telegraph – Pvt. Bernard Klotz is POW
Telegraph sent to Pvt. Bernard Klotz’s mother, 2/24/1943, informing her that he is a POW.
My father Bernard Klotz was captured in North Africa and survived two plus years in a POW camp in Germany. What saved his life—his dog tag did not have the H for Hebrew on it! Because my father spoke Yiddish in his home, German came easy to him. His captors not knowing his religion used him as an interpreter. – Shared by Debra Delorenzo
